Albariño is the energizer among white wines. It originates from the Atlantic northwest of Spain. Granite soils and aging in stainless steel tanks give it its freshness, while three months of lees aging impart its delicate spiciness and texture. On the nose, a vibrant blend of flint, chalk, and zesty citrus notes unfolds. On the palate, it is salty, mineral, and citrusy, with notes of lime and herbs, firm and sinewy with crisp acidity. An expressive purist. Rías Baixas is located by the sea; therefore, it pairs perfectly with fish and seafood—such as octopus, mussels, oysters, or paella with shrimp. It is also excellent with goat cheese.
