Volnay Robardelle 2020, 75 cl

This charming Volnay Premier Cru from the Robardelle vineyard reveals itself as a Burgundy of the highest quality. Its intense floral and fruity aromas hint at ripe cherries, velvety rose petals, pencil lead, and mulberries, accompanied by a subtle, animal note. From the very first sip, the wine is sensuously captivating, with silky tannins, densely woven and juicy, elegant, red-fruited, and wonderfully balanced. For its young age (review from July 2024), this Pinot Noir is already remarkably drinkable. Slightly chilled, it offers immense drinking pleasure, especially with venison with sour cherries and potato dumplings, veal fillet, or even a briefly seared tuna fillet in a sesame crust. (SiKl)
