The Dominio de ES Viñas Viejas de Soria is an exceptional Ribera del Duero. The old, ungrafted Tempranillo vines come from high-altitude micro-plots around Atauta in Soria (950-1,000 m). A small percentage of the white Albillo grape contributes to the wine's freshness and vibrancy. On the nose, it displays dark and red berry fruit, a hint of sandalwood, and wild herbs. On the palate, it is straightforward and juicy, with lively acidity, graphite notes, and gripping yet refined tannins. Vibrant and full of tension, it will gain considerable smoothness with a little patience over the next few years. It pairs ideally with braised or grilled lamb, game dishes, herb-crusted beef, mushroom dishes, or aged hard cheeses.
