Teaninich Single Malt Scotch Whiskey, 14 years 2008, 75 cl

In 2000, a hammer mill with a mash filter was installed at the Teaninich distillery – the only one still in operation at a Scottish malt distillery. This technology, which eliminates the need for a mash tun, produces an ultra-clear wort. Teaninich whiskies are therefore characterized by a light and floral-sweet character. The nose of this single malt is dominated by aromas of roasted orange peel, exotic floral notes, and orchard fruit compote. On the palate, this whisky, finished in an Oloroso sherry cask, reveals caramelized nuts, gingerbread, and dark honey. The finish is of medium length and leaves a warming sensation in the mouth.
