Shiraz Lamella 2019, 75 cl

This rare wine from Dan Standish comes from his Stonegarden Vineyard, planted in 1858 in the High Eden Valley. A magical aroma envelops the nose with captivating notes of blackberries, blackcurrants, sage, mint, smoked meat, and licorice. On the palate, it is concentrated, with an extremely silky texture, full-bodied, enormously juicy, and ultra-fine tannins. There are hints of chocolate and black tea. Fine minerality, good grip, a generous mouthfeel, rich structure, and the cool Eden Valley style with a powerful finish reminiscent of great Northern Rhône wines. A world-class Shiraz, as rich and profound as one would expect from vines over 100 years old. An elegant wooden label adorns the exquisite bottle.
