Sherry Pedro Ximénez
CHF26.50
According to an old legend, it was a certain Peter Siemes from the Rhine – a soldier in the ranks of Charles V – who brought the vines of this variety to Andalusia. Rumor has it that it was Riesling. Peter Siemes became Pedro Ximénez... Whether you find this legend appealing, we don't know. But you will most likely enjoy this Pedro Ximénez. Like all sherries from the Gutiérrez-Colosía house, it is characterized by tremendous freshness. Even in this very sweet PX, the sweetness is never overpowering, but rather perfectly balanced with acidity and bitterness. A broad spectrum of aromas unfolds, including coffee, Sachertorte, dark fruit jam, raisins, and tobacco. Creamy and viscous – a sherry that lingers on the palate in slow motion. Perfect for those with a sweet tooth and excellent with vanilla ice cream.
