In the Douro Superior region, bordering Spain, the vines thrive in the typical Portuguese field blend for this rich white Douro Reserva. Passagem presents itself with intense and powerful aromas and an impressive structure. The spice, mineral bitterness, and diverse floral aromas fully develop, especially after a few minutes of aeration in the glass. Flint, white pepper, ripe peach, grapefruit and orange peel, jasmine, and magnolia alternate in this medley. On the palate, it is creamy, dense, and modern in style. Its complex array of aromas lingers long on the finish. Quinta das Bandeiras is essentially the Douro Superior wine of Quinta de La Rosa. Bandeiras is located opposite Vale Meão in the Douro Superior. The estate (100 hectares) was purchased by the Bergqvist family in 2005. It is a joint venture with the renowned oenologist Jorge Moreira.
