Miltonduff Single Malt Scotch Whiskey, 10 years 2012, 75 cl

This is a ten-year-old distillation from the Miltonduff distillery, independently bottled by The Whisky Cellar. Founder Keith Bonnington claims this is his biggest "sherry bomb" in the series. The whisky was bottled from two Oloroso sherry quarter casks. These smaller casks develop particularly rich, dark flavors, ideal for lovers of this style. The nose reveals aromas of dark syrup toffee, blackberry jam, cloves, and cinnamon. On the palate, dark chocolate unfolds with crystallized ginger, dried raisins and cranberries, cloves, and five-spice notes. Sweet buckwheat honey, toasted oak, and bittersweet dark chocolate accompany the finish.
