The Merlot Riserva "Georg" thrives at 350 meters above sea level below the Leuchtenburg ruins, growing on porphyry rock and moraine deposits on warm, west-facing slopes. This unique location, with its deep soil, allows for the production of a complex, powerful Merlot with excellent aging potential. Made from hand-harvested grapes, this Merlot offers a complex bouquet on the nose, reminiscent of blueberry compote, white pepper, rose petals, and Christmas spices. A hint of sweet vanilla-cherry tobacco is also present. On the palate, this South Tyrolean Merlot provides great drinking pleasure with its velvety, elegant character and charming fruit sweetness. Fine-grained tannins, precise fruit expression, richness, and harmony define this Riserva.
