A top-tier wine and the flagship of Castello del Terriccio. Its name derives from the place where wolves (lupi) used to attack their prey from their hiding places. This Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated Bordeaux blend displays an intense, rich, and exceptionally deep bouquet, its magnificent fruit aromas of blackcurrants and wild blackberries blending beautifully with the balsamic scents of eucalyptus and Mediterranean curry plant. Enchanting, seductive, and velvety on the palate, it is dense and juicy, with superb tannin structure. Its balsamic and warm aromatics are accompanied by minty freshness and a mineral note. A wine with great personality, it finishes with an elegant and lingering aftertaste. Lupicaia's consistently high quality earns it three glasses (3 Bicchieri) from Gambero Rosso almost every year.
