Cascina Morassino is a small winery in the heart of Barbaresco, in the province of Cuneo. There, the grapes thrive at approximately 270 meters above sea level on clay-rich, calcareous marl soil. The grapes for this red wine come from Ovello, a truly exceptional vineyard in Barbaresco, where Nebbiolo is predominantly cultivated. It's a special place, not typically known for Merlot, but the vines were planted there in the 1990s and therefore produce particularly well-structured and refined Merlot wines. This Langhe wine impresses with its fresh fruit and lively acidity, making it incredibly drinkable. A wine that's simply a joy to drink! With its opulent, rich plum aromas and light, yet well-structured tannins, it's also a great choice for barbecue season.
