The Vernatsch "Alexander" thrives at 350 meters above sea level on a south-facing slope below the Leuchtenburg ruins, growing on porphyry bedrock. This unique location near Lake Kaltern, with its deep soil, allows for the production of an expressive and complex Vernatsch with excellent aging potential. Aromas of strawberries, white pepper, licorice, and cooked plums combine to create a red-fruited, spicy composition. On the palate, flavors of blood orange, rosehip, hibiscus, and pepper intertwine.
