The Invergordon distillery overlooks the Cromarty Firth in the Scottish Highlands. Oddly enough, it's the only Scottish grain distillery outside the Scottish Lowlands. A whisky made primarily from wheat or corn possesses a genuine sweetness, especially when matured in good American oak. Spending 25 years in a single ex-bourbon American oak barrel, the Invergordon presents those typically light aromas of vanilla custard, salted butter, brioche, a hint of coconut, and white chocolate wafer. Smooth on the finish with a touch of warming spices. What began as an idea during the UK lockdown has become a reality.
