Chardonnay Belle Côte 2018, 75 cl

The grapes for Belle Côte are grown at an altitude of 1,700 to 1,800 feet above sea level. This high altitude, combined with a sheltered location, creates the conditions for a long and slow ripening process. The resulting wine offers the broadest, richest fruit profile of our four single-vineyard Chardonnays, with pure citrus notes, exotic lychee, and our signature wet-stone minerality. The nose is intensely powerful, revealing hedonistic aromas of lychee, rose petals, and orange blossom, with a background of minerals, candied orange, yellow peach, crème brûlée, nougat, nuts, and toasted almonds. The rich, supple palate is very creamy and substantial. Notes of pain grillé, jam, brioche, and hazelnut, paired with natural acidity and minerality, complete the mouthfeel. The Belle Côte is already a delight and will continue to develop for another decade or more.
