Campbeltown House Malt Oloroso sherry Octave cask, 7 years 2014, 75 cl

Campbeltown is one of Scotland's quintessential whisky regions, renowned for its oily, maritime malts, rich in texture and flavor. While this is technically a blended malt, it's actually a tea-spooned Glen Scotia, transferred in August 2019 to a small first-fill Oloroso sherry octave cask. The nose reveals its robust character with sherry and animal, almost meaty aromas. On the palate, sultanas and dark cherries follow, culminating in a spicy finish with hints of sea salt and black pepper.
