Barbaresco Montestefano 2017, 75 cl

A magnificent Barbaresco from the top Montestefano vineyard with great aging potential, created by Angelo Gaja's long-time winemaker, Guido Rivella. A finely woven bouquet of aromas, initially subtle, yet full of meaning. Aromas of plum compote, rosehip tea, undergrowth, leather, meat, and incense unfold. On the palate, the plum flavors reappear, joined by dried figs, cranberries, cocoa, a touch of white pepper, and Damask rose petals. This spicy Barbaresco is tightly bound with very fine-grained tannins. Its powerful, well-structured body and subtle fruit sweetness make it a long-distance runner, already a delightful pairing for heartier meat dishes.
