Domaine Deiss is a "superstar" of the Alsace wine region and is run by Marcel's son, Jean-Michel Deiss, who cultivates the estate biodynamically. The Schlossberg is a complex Grand Cru of great elegance and depth. The undisputed "lord" of the Schlossberg is Riesling, which thrives on sandy granite soil, imparting an intense mineral character. The wine offers aromas of fresh herbs, citrus fruits, and a hint of wet stone. On the palate, one senses its energy and distinctive "vertical structure." A magnificent wine with great potential, depth, freshness, spice, and salinity. The somewhat medieval and sacred-inspired label was designed in collaboration with an artist skilled in ancient techniques and pigmentation. It showcases the colors of the soil and the wine's distinctive structure and form.
